Geilo shred is on!

Today i had my first day railing after my injury.
It worked well, so freakin stoked!
Did some 270 on, some switch up, and spins off.
The plan was to film to a rail edit, But as you can se at the picture below,
it was way to cold to film

26 minus + bluebird = cold fun

Stoked after a good sesion!

Tomorrow we are leaving.
But we will get some hours in the park before we are going home to Asker.

Step by step

Its my Birthday today and first day on skis since i crashed in Dachstein.
I was pretty nervous because i didn’t now how it would be, but it actually went out good.
I was just cruising down the slopes at tryvann, no rails or jumps, but it feels good to be back again. I will try to ski pretty often now, to get in shape before I can cruise a bit harder.
Things just gets better and better, it is not more then 2 weeks since I walked out of the hospital, so everything looks pretty good! Stoked!

Some pretty good news

Yesterday i was at my doctors place, to set some plans after my fall.
And I can start skiing again now, but not do jumps and rails, just start easy, step by step.
But anyways, that was great news for me, so stoked! I could also start training carefully at the gym. On Saturday I think I will have my first day on skis in a while. Really exited and nervous at the same time, because I cant see so good as before, it’s a little hard to focus on things when im walking, but we will see how it goes.
My body feels actually pretty good, it is just my vision that is different, but it is better than a week ago and that was not something that I didnt expected.

Me at the hospital in Dachstein.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

London ride

Yo!

Now i am hope after the London Ride.

On saturday morning i came to the olympic hall for some practise at the big air with snow flex. They said that we was going to have 1 hour with practise, but we only got 35 min. so i did just get 5 jumps.. and that aint much for me, when i have never tried a jump like that before. Alomst all the other riders has been jumping on that jump for a week. I did some rodeos 5 wth bow and arrow grab. i did go to the finals but that was it, i the finals i didnt get enough speed to land in the landing, that sucked.. but shit happens..

Now is it the London Freeze next, me and Fridtjof Fredricson is travling down together on saturday. This is my first big competition like this. Fridtof has been slaying the freestyle. ch with a nice 6th place and the freestyle.berlin with a 8th place, sick!

Chillout-days

Whats upp..

Now have me and dansken just been chillin out for a couple of days.

The Winter games slopestyle was on saturday, but i did not compete in that..
The reason for that is simple, Soo bad course!! It was so easy to ether land on the nuckle or overshoot, and the jumps were very small. So i decided just to chill out for some days.. We have been playing "Agressive Golfing", skated, and sleeping.
But tomorrow we are going to Snow Park and shred some.

And yeah, i just got a spot in the Big Air, Winter games. But it is at the 30.aug, and we are going home the 28. aug, so we just need to re.booking our tickets(just hope that it will be alright). I think Jon Olsson is gonna helping to build the big jump for the winter games, and that will be awsome!!

Here are some pics:

New competition day tomorrow

Soo this is what basicly happend:

When it was practise, it was bluebird, almost no wind, and just super fun to ski the course.
And when the practise was finnished it started to get really foggy and windy, and we just got to skiing 1 run each before they had to canceled it. So tomorrow we gonna ride our second run.
I am actually pretty stoked over it, because it says on the fourcast that it will be sunny..! yea.

So my run is: 270 disaster on the kinkbox, misty 450 out on the launchbox, sw bio 720 japan, sw 900 nosemute and then a kangaroo flip 900 japan shiftey.

and.. yeah ive just got an spot in the Wintergames slopestyle!! STOKED!
Its at the Remarkables skisenter in Queenstown, just 1,5 hours car trip from where we are staying now(Wanaka).
The slopestyle comp is at the 22 aug.

Thats it..

Stoked before the comp!

Hey guys!

Me and Dansken woked up at 9 o`clock, and eat a nice breakfast at the cafe, then we drove up to pick up my bib nr and get some info about the comp

Afterwards i was up at Cardrona skiresort shredding..
Burton open is finnished and next up is Volkl NZ Open.
The slopestyle course is:
a flat down box-launch box-then 3 kickers in a row(small-medium-big) then a weird setup, like an up rail, then a mini quarter and then you take the up rail, down again(?) hehe, hard to explain..

But some of the elements was open today, it was the flat down box and the first and second jump. So i tried them some few times, but im not very happy with the jumps, first and second jump is pretty small so i cant do what i hoped to do on the jumps.. but im looking forward to try the last jump aka the big jump. and maybe do some dubs on that.

Here are som pics from NZ..

Backyard Setup

Yo!

Now i have buildt a backyard-setup in my little backyard in front of my house.
Me and my homie Mathias Helgesen have spent some hours buying in tube`s and materials and building inrun and railsetup. After aproximatly 4 hours the setup was finished and raised, we started to test it out.
It was a bit scary in the start, but it took only some few minutes to get used to it.

The next day we stood up eeeearly and had some plans of the famous "all 8" and after 1 hour both of us was finished with the "all 8" and the clock was just 7:30 in the morning!!

We have taken som few pictures from the setup as you can watch below.
And maybe some day i can put up a little edit.

Last shoot for this season, Juvass 09

The juvass shoot was the most epic shoot i`ve ever been on!
It was with the Field crew (WWW.FIELDPRODUCTIONS.COM) who shooted on the jump.

The people: Jon Olsson, Anders Backe, Even Sigstad, Tom Wallisch, PC Fosse, Christopher Frankum, Ole Mustad and Aleksander Aurdal.

The jump: 30 m rollover, 9 m high kicker and just perfectly built.

The first day was the helishoot day, i had not tryed the jump before the heli arrived, so it was a bit scary to just start straight on a shoot. but the heli arrived 1 hour to late so i just got 2 jump with the heli.

The second day arrived Tom Wallisch to join some shooting at Juvass. This day we filmed from the ground with the RED cam. Everyone killed it, and it turn out as a great succses!!

Fonna shoot 09!

This weekend was of the hook!

Me, Petter and Dansken was heading up to Folgefonna at friday. After 7,5 hour long trip we arrived to Krossdalen were the field production guys lived and camped there.

At saturday we was heading up to Fonna to check out the jump and start to shape it and Emil fossheim took the hard job with his machine. after several hours with shaping, the jump was finally ready to get hitted.

The jump was 23 m long, and a huge kicker, i loved the jump, it was perfectly built and we had a lot of hangtime.

We filmed the whole saturday, the skiers was Me, Aleks Aurdal, Anders Backe, Chris Frankum and Even Sigstad. Everyone got alot of good shoots.

At sunday was the Helishoot day, everyone was stoked as hell. We had the chopper for 1 hour and things went off. This was the first time i filmed with Field Production and the first time i was on a helishoot. The chopper guy was crazy and we filmed with a red cam and the equipment to the red cam plus the red cam had a price on 1 million dollar.

So the weekend was SICK! and i had a hell of a good time at Fonna!
Here are som photoes from the trip:

Injuries

Hey People!

First i will say sorry for bad updating on my blog! and then tell you whats happend lately!

I was in Trysil for a week go and competed in Sweet Rumble, it was so sick, i have never seen a so good competition before, it was with top level skiers only and everyone were killin it!

In the practise i did some kangaroo flip 900's and stomped many of them, and 2 trys on a kangaroo flip 1080. So the plan was to do first a regular kangaroo 900, and then a kangaroo 1080 in the qualification. But for some reason i bailed pretty hard on the first kangaroo 900, i dident manage to get out of the flatspin and just spinning totaly flat and landed straight on my back! It was i bit painfull, but i though everything was okey. in the second run i dissided to do a kangaroo 1080, and i the air everything went smothly, but when i spotted the landing and gonna stomp it, my ski fell of, And that was not the part of my plan, hehe. but shit happens!

The winner of the Sweet rumble 2009 was PK Hunder, his skiing was so sick and he stomped every tricks he was goiing for, creds to PK!

The upcomming days after sweet rumble, was the plan to staying there for a week to film the the crew; Field Production. But a day after the competition my back was way more pain, so i dident manage to ski more, and i was goiing home to Asker.

It sucks cuse i had really looking forward to film with them.

Now i have been home for a week and trained my back on them gym, i have been swimming, been on a laser clinic, and all that. And i probobly gonna stay home for some few moro days to heal up!

European Open 3

Qualification day!

Today was the qualifications, I was in the first heat.
Me and Marius Kjolseth woke up 8 at the morning, and eat breakfast.
Then we took the lift up to the course, it was nice wheater, but very icey course.
In the practise i did my run so i was not SO nervous, but ofcourse a bit nervouse.
In my first run i did; on the rail: k-fed, 2 hit quarter: air with japan and air to fakie. First jump: sw bio 9 nosemute, second jump: dub cork 10 nosemute to CRASH, i landed with both of my skitip at the flat! and that ended in a brused thumb! In the second run i dident managed to put my glove on, so i borrowed Thomas Dolplads's glove, and i have to ski with one pole, and that was enough to fuck up my run and the balance, soo i dident qualify.
I was a bit pist off, because i have landed all of my dub 10's but im the qualifying run i screwed it up, but shit happens..

Creds to; Fridtjof Fredricson who qualify at first place in hes heat, Elvis Harseheim, Halvard thon, Vegard Oye who also qualifyed for the semis. The fourth heat was canceled beacuse of much wind, so they gonna do it tomorrow, Its Gaute Silseth, Sig Tveit and Klaus Finne who is in fourth heat.

Now im just gonna shred some rails and boxes in the sick railpark in Laax for some couple of days. And maybe some day manage to put up a rail edit!

European Open 2

Practice day and Riders meeting!

Today it was the official practice day for the slopestyle comp at european open 09.
I have my run quite good now, ive landed all of my dub 10`s today so im pretty stoked about that.
On the last kicker i had planed to do a kangaroo flip, but the kicker is way too flat for that, so i think i gonna do a rodeo 900 in stead.

On the riders meeting we got some info about the competition.
They said that the 2 quarterpipes are gonna count and be in the comp(WTF?).
If i wanted to ride a half pipe i would registratied for half pipe... They could just as well put a pillow line in the course.. it would make just as much sence!
and since i almost never rides half pipe, im not good at half pipe, and on the first jump im gonna hit it switch, but i cant revert so i have to land switch in the pipe and that will effect my run.
And most of the norwegian riders agree that, including Sig the shocker!
Now im complaining a lot, but thats just the facts hehe..

I am in the first heat with Ole Mustad and Ketil Jansen and 22 other guys.
its 4 heats in all, and every heat it is 25 riders, 6 will qualify for the semifinals.

I will post some photos soon!

Wish me good luck fellaz.

Im out, peace!

European Open

Hey folks!

Now im here in Laax, Switzerland.

Im gonna tell you folks a bit of my trip:
First i went from Oslo to frankfurt by myself. then i waited for 1 hour before i met Elvis Harsheim and Marius Kjolseth. I hoped that im gonna take the same flight as these guys from Frankfurt to Zürich, buut.. i dident. I almost missed my flight, but i made it in the last minute.
When i arrived in Zürich i desided to wait for Sig tveit, Elvis and Marius for 2 hours.
When i called Elvis to check the status at those guys, and he said that they missed the flight, haha! So i had to take the train and bus alone, a bit scethcy since i never had been here before, but i made it..

I live with Sig, Elvis and marius at riders palace here at Laax. We got to test the slopestyle course, its gonna be: a 10 m flatbox to 2 hits in a "back to back" quarterpipe(not cool) then its 3 jumps in a line, the kickers is pretty flat, but i hope im gonna set my run.
My plan was that i gonna have a videoblog from European Open, but im SO good at videocams, that i made to delete all the footage from the trip, so therefore i have no photoes or clips from the trip, but maybe one day im gonna made one!

See ya!

Nippon Open Finals

$Hey folks!

Today was the Big air finals in Nippon Open 2009 held.
we were 4 norwegians in the semi finals, but only 3 got to the finals.
It was Fridtjof Fredricson, Alexander Aurdal and PC Fosse.
it was like 100 people overall, and we stood in the final, 3 out of 4 norwegians of 12 in the final.
It was 2 heat.
First out was Fridtjof Fredricson he did a forward 12 but lost hes ski in the landing and fell. and then it was Alexander Aurdal, he did a kangaroo flip japan, but he overrotated and fell haard! he dident remember much afterwords. Last norwegian guy out was me, i did a kangaroo flip 900 japan, and landed quit good, then i did a pretty large 540 mute in the quarter.
In the second heat was it Fridtjof Fredricson again, he did a forward 12 nosemute and stomped it this time, then he did a 900 safty in the quarter pipe, i think he was pretty stoked about hes run.
Second guy out was Alexander Aurdal, he dident do a tricks because of the BIG crash at the rist jump.Last guy out was me again, this time i did a kangaroo flip 900 japan, and stomped it, then in the quarter i go very huge in the quarter with a 540 nosemute poke, when i landed my ski fell off, but i managed to stand anyways, so i dident got any minus for that. was very stoked for my kangaroo flip, it was one of my best kangaroo ever.

When it was Price award, we were very, very, very nervous, first the speaker said the 4th place: Charles Gagnier, then he said the 3th place: Guillaume Sbrava, then the speaker said for the 2nd: PC Fosse, never been so stooked in my whole life, and first place did Jossi Wells won!

Qualifiing Nippon Open!

Hey!

Today was the qualifiing for Nippon Open Big Air.
The course was a bit better today, they had fixed the landing a bit, so it wassent soo flat..
but the quarterpipe was underverted.
It was 4 heats and none of us was in the same heat. I was in the first heat and i did a
Kangaroo flip japan to 540 mute in the quarterpipe. I was pretty satisfied with my kangaroo since i got the grab and stomped the landing, but the 540 mute in the quarter was a bit scetchy because it was underverted so i landed a bit on the top..
but i`ve got a 4th place in my heat so im in to the semifinals.
Next man out was Frido, and he did a big dbl cork 1080 and a smooth 540 safetfy in the quarter.
He qualifiied in 6th place in hes heat.
Last guy from Norway was Steffen Hamre, he did a cleen sw 900 mute and a 540 mute in the quarter, stomped both of em, so he qualifiied in 1st place in hes heat! props!
In the womens heat was Mille Windfelt the only girl from norway and the inly girl in the heat who did a 720, and went big in the quarter with a mute, so she quallifiied in 4th place as well!

So all the Norwegians is next to the semi finals is at saturday.
Alex Aurdal was pre qual. to the semi because of the 6th place in Nippon Open last year!

Me and Aurdal showing some skillz while waiting for the other heats.

Steffone hamre is happy!
Frido isposing with hes thumbs up! Thats right!

Nippon Open 1

Yo folks!

Here is a little update from Nippon Open, Japan!
Me and Frido is just finished with the training for the Big air.
The jump was not to good, because of the flat landing, so it’s hard conditions now.
Its been raining the whole day, and its very slushy. I hope that they can fix the jump for tomorrow so its easier to land. After the jump there is a quarterpipe, not so stokes about that, It really looks like they had spend more time on the quarterpipe than the Big air. My opinion on a Big Air comp is that they should only had a Big jump and not a quarter..
But now is it only some few hours to the ridermeetig, so I think and hope they can fix the landing on the Big jump, and not judging at the quarter.
Just found out that they will judge at both elements(Big Air & Quarterpipe)

My tricks on the Big air was:
Rodeos
Kangaroo flip 900
And a double cork 1080, but I had too much rotation in my arms so I fell.
Frido did some sick 1080 nosemute and stamped it bigtime!
On the quarter did me and Frido some 540`s.

I will post some photos and update more soon, so keep lookin.

Japan next!

Hey!

Now i have decided to write in english on my blog.
Hope thats no problem for you folks!
And yeah, i know its gonna be ALOT of bad writing in english! hehe

This week it has been alot of working and not so much skiing, it sucks because its been holiday, and all the skiresorts has been closing around 5 a clock, and im working to 4.
But i`ve been sking on saturday and sunday, and takin som photos with Daniel Tengs.
pretty stoked about the session we had at Tanum, it was built a kicker on a farm, and we got tow-in by a sled, think ive got like 4 good pictures!

Now i have just packed my stuff, and im ready to head over to Japan with my ski-mate Fridtjof Fredricson(Frido) for Nippon Open. This year its been a few changes in Nippon Open because the weather conditions, its like 10 + celsius in Japan, and therfore its not very much snow over there. So the Slopestyle has been canceled, and all the riders gonna compete in Big Air insted.

I will try to update as often i can i Japan, so stay tuned..

Få dager igjen i CO

Halla!

PH: Daniel Tengs
